Since 1999, CHMB AM1320’s “Solid Gold Singing Contest” has become one of CHMB’s signature events. This event is heavily promoted by CHMB as one of their key annual events and the contest has discovered many new local singing talents.

Each year, ten finalists are chosen to take part in a series of intensive training in preparation for the Finale Show. The Finale is held at the state-of-the-art River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond, BC, Canada. Many winners and finalists have signed on with record companies in Hong Kong and Taiwan, while others have joined CHMB as program hosts and perform regularly in local events.
